Ex-President Corazon Aquino battles for colon cancer
Former Philippine President Corazon Aquino is currently undergoing a crisis as she suffers from colon cancer. She is the country’s icon for democracy and unity that toppled the 20-year dictatorship of strongman Ferdinand Marcos.

Her leadership remains visible during protests and rallies against corruption and wrongdoings of the Philippine government. In her 75 years of existence, she has been an epitome of humility and great concern for poor Filipinos.

Indeed, it was a shocking announcement for the public when two of her children, Senator Benigno Aquino III and TV host Kris Aquino, went out of their way to tell about the illness of their mother.
This may be the lowest moment for the prominent Aquino family. But I am sure many will be praying for Mrs. Aquino’s immediate recovery. Although the family has not yet divulged the current cancer stage of the former president, Sen. Aquino appealed to the media and friends some privacy and more prayers for their mother.

TV host Kris Aquino could not stop herself from crying when asked about her mother’s condition. Truly, it is a painful endeavor for her since she is the youngest among her siblings and very close to her mom.

This event in the Aquino’s family is a strong indication that cancer remains a traitor to anyone. We can never tell who will get it. But I am very sure that Mrs. Aquino can surpass this trial.
She has led a good life and has been an inspiration to many women not only in the country but in the world. Mrs. Aquino was the first woman president in Asia and women empowerment started from her.

Whatever happens to Mrs. Aquino is indeed a blessing. Only God knows what is best for her. Let us simply remember her in our prayers that she can continue helping other people to survive the daily misfortunes and her life story be a source of strength to others.

I just want to say her only one thing - Do keep faith in God. You have loved your people even those people who didn't deserve. I have firm believe that God loves who love others. So God loves you too. I pray God's blessing will ever be with you to make you healthy as you were earlier.

I like Aquino, widow of former senator Benigno Aquino Jr., as an administrator. She became the first president of the Philippines when the people power revolution ended the 20-year dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos in Philippines. Everyone knows colon cancer is curable so I wish her recovery soon.

I remembered Corazon Aquino's husband was killed when he was returning to his country from exile in 1983. The assassination caused the protest movement and she led the movement and it resulted in the downfall of the 14 years of Marcos dictatorship.Yellow dress is her trademark in public. I wish her a speedy recovery.

At the age of 74, she has been attending rallies demanding for the resignation of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. She is very active public figure in Philippines and involved in several projects of social services. I pray for her - 'Get well soon'
